on the banks of the Yellow River. On a county level, the city covers an area of 14,233 km<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0(approx. 15,3202 sq ft) and has 4,8 million inhabitants, one city district, two county-level cities and ten counties.<\/p>\n<p>The project &#8220;Shanxi 948 &#8211; Introduction of a modern ground water management system&#8221; was initiated by the Chinese Ministry of Water and implemented by the Office of Hydrology and Water Resources in Yuncheng.
